I am 14 weeks pregnant with our first child and it has got me thinking about the information I have at my finger tips and if this is a good thing or not.
I have been relying on searching the Internet to help me learn and understand the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy, trying to determine what to expect and if what I am experiencing is normal or not.
I am trying to rely on my instincts and not be paranoid about every little change or occurrence, but am finding the more information I search for, the more I can become worried about the otherwise normal things I am experiencing.
One recent example was a tiny bit of blood when I wiped after going to the toilet, upon researching I got very worried about all the possible bad things that could be attributed to this and mostly ignored the other more normal possible reasons. I have had a scan and all is ok with me and the baby, and the bleeding was insignificant and just par for the course. My rational mind was no where to be seen on the information highway that is for sure!
I think it is great that there is so much information out there, I am definitely more knowledgeable about each stage of my pregnancy and the changes that are occurring to me and the baby each week than I ever would have been if I was having this baby 5 years ago, but for the most part, I am going to take a step back and just let nature take its course 🙂

My wife and I were just saying the same thing about the internet and the information that is at our fingertips…..our kids will never know how easy they have it!
Cheers,
Michael
Thanks Michael, it sure is one very exciting journey to be on that is for sure 🙂
Can only imagine how much she is going to teach me about technology and the internet in years to come!
